Has Modern Journalism Lost Its Way or Just Evolved with the Times?

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how modern journalism has changed compared to even a decade ago. It feels like news outlets focus more on clicks and engagement than accuracy or depth. I get that the internet has completely reshaped how stories spread, but sometimes it’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s just crafted to grab attention.

I came across an interesting site called whosonline.net that digs into media trends and online transparency, and it got me wondering how much of what we read is shaped by algorithms versus real investigative work. Are journalists still able to report freely, or are they stuck playing by the rules of social media and SEO?

I’d love to hear what others think about where journalism is headed. Are we witnessing the evolution of media or the slow decline of credible reporting?
