Oven won’t heat past 200°F – anyone fixed this?
My electric range (GE) stopped heating properly about a week ago. It turns on, the element glows, but the inside barely gets warm. Already checked breakers and cleaned everything obvious. Really don’t want to replace the whole thing if it’s something simple like a bad sensor. Has anyone in the Seattle area had this issue and actually got it fixed affordably? Looking for recommendations for repair people who know what they’re doing.

That usually points to a faulty temperature sensor, bake element (even if it glows it can be partially failed), or sometimes the control board. Mine did the exact same thing and it was the temp sensor – cheap part but a pain to reach. I didn’t want to mess with it myself so I called a local repair service. They came next morning, confirmed it with a multimeter, swapped the sensor and had me baking again same day. Whole thing was $165 including the part. I saw good feedback about them here https://911seattleappliancerepair.com/ They seem to do a lot of GE and similar brands around Seattle and don’t push you to replace the appliance unless it really makes no sense. Saved me a fortune compared to buying new. Hope you get it sorted quickly!
